6 shot procedures project
In this assignment we were assigned groups of four to create a video using all six shots. To do this we had to first storyboard our ideas as a group. We then went out and scouted areas to shoot our film at.
After we had figured out what we were going to film and where we were going to film we checked out camera equipment. after the we set up the camera, got into our outfits, and started filming. Once we had filmed our main clips we decided to film backup clips in case we wanted to use them later.
Once we had gotten our clips we checked our equipment back and and exported the clips to our computers. Once we had done that we could start editing. In my editing process I tried not to use too many clips but that resulted in some clips laying to long.
In this project I was an actor. We used communication by conversing on what we thought would be the best shot. We stayed on task by planning what to do each day ahead of time. This project taught me leadership by showing me how to direct others when no one knew what to do, like when we didn't have the costumes we wanted so I had to bring some of my own.
For future projects I would get even more shots and angles and maybe cut down on some of the walk cycle shots. I would keep the variety of shots the same because your whole project can't just be one shot. It needs a large array of shots to be both entertaining and to provide an apprehensible story line.
In conclusion I have learned that variety in shots is important to the film making process. That is not the only conclusive factor in making a good film though. You must also be able to edit those clips well and not make them to long or short. Overall this project has helped me understand the importance of different camera shots.
